YOUR RIGHTS

Members of the public may attend all Council Meetings. It may be necessary, however, to ask the public to leave a meeting for a particular item if a confidential matter is to be discussed e.g. concerning terms proposed for a contract for services, legal proceedings or matters concerning an individual.

These matters are relatively rare, however, and the vast majority of Council business is considered and resolved in public.
